Reframing Escapism

In this relentless world,
we bate to blow off steam. 
We learn to make it feel soo good
to ride mind-melding bliss as practice

We do it for ourselves 
but with and for each other, too
in order to bear this relentless world
and get through another day

Time and time again, we escape to this refuge
to this dream world we build, together
and slowly, yes, it grows more solid
for even dreams need time and room to grow
and care, and intention.

Here are the collective bate dreams we can inhabit this October:

London. But not really; Bator Bro is going off to the coast of Sitges, Catalonia for BatorCamp, a long weekend getaway, from October 1st – 4th. Batescape is resting after their recent first-year anniversary.

The NYC party Gooniversity is coming to London on October 31st. The angle and energy are very different from other events on this list: with a focus on porn-gooning, wall-to-wall videos and “in-person demonstrations by famous online gooners”. It seems very U.S.A., but who knows, the warm London bator community might make this a great one.

Barcelona. Copes i Bastos will probably hold a social in the second half of October. Sign up to the mailing list for updates.

Paris. Their friendly Apéro Poto social is happening October 7th. Paris Jacks is holding their cozier Sunday event on October 11th at Redzone, and their Wednesday afterwork event on October 28th at Secteur X. Get tickets beforehand.

Belfast. Belfast Bators is meeting on October 17th.

Manchester. Manchester Jacks is usually the last Sunday of each month. Reach out to @Ulysees61 on Telegram if you’re interested.

Milan. Qua La Mano is holding their first weekday event on Monday, October 26th.

Berlin. Berlin Bators is resting and will be back in December.

As for weekly jack-off clubs, London has LJOC every Monday at Bunker Bar. Madrid has Pajas Entre Colegas a couple times a week. Barcelona has BudoBator semi-weekly, you can contact @BudoBator on Telegram. Amsterdam used to have Willy Wankers every Friday at Free Willie, but they’ve closed. There’s talk of local bators organizing… Hopefully, more on that soon.
